Giving Circles

Imagine...100 Women donating $100 each. That's $10,000 to a community-based non-profit!

A giving circle is a form of philanthropy in which a group of individuals donate their own money to a pooled fund, decide together where to give the funds and, in doing so, seek to increase their awareness of and engagement in the issues covered by the charity or community project. Giving circles make philanthropy easy for people who are at different stages of their careers, income levels, and lives. In other words, you don’t have to be a millionaire to be a philanthropist.

Why establish a Giving Circle?

Establishing a giving circle provides members the opportunity to connect with others who share a common interest in addressing specific community needs. Giving circles are also a good way to meet new people, learn about community organizations and identify programs in need of assistance.

Giving circles enhance the welfare of community organizations and help members engage in the community and achieve confidence in their capabilities as donors.

Our Giving Circles

Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation currently has two giving circles: 100+ Women Who Care Effingham County and 100 Women Who Care Jasper County.
