Crawford County CEO Program Fund

Crawford County CEO Program Fund

To provide operating support for the development of a new entrepreneurial curriculum in conjunction with high schools in Crawford County.

A Community with a Vision

In 2012, a group of community leaders that included educators, city and county leaders, Chamber of Commerce, recognized that 80% of all American businesses are small business owners and it is those business owners that provide jobs and prosperity for our communities and the country. This visionary group recognized that entrepreneurs have changed the world, yet our youth are not sufficiently exposed to entrepreneurial opportunities. Seed money was raised from local individuals and businesses to support a three-year pilot entrepreneurship program for high school students. The Entrepreneurship Advisory Board, consisting of educators, entrepreneurs, community leaders and government officials, provides ongoing guidance for the three-year pilot program called “CEO” – Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities!

Our Mission

The mission of the CEO class is to prepare our youth to be responsible, enterprising individuals who become entrepreneurs or entrepreneurial thinkers and contribute to the economic development and sustainability of Crawford County. It is our hope that these young entrepreneurs will follow in the footsteps of many of the entrepreneurs in our community, and will reside in or return to Crawford County to run their business, raise their families and give back to their community.

Would you like to help our CEO student's success?

We are always looking for ways community members can participate in the growth our CEO students. There are a number of ways that you can help.

Site visits: If you are part of a business that would like to open up its doors and allow us to see how the business works. This typically involves students coming to your site and touring the facility as well as allowing time for questions and answers.

Class speaking: We have numerous speakers throughout the year on a wide range of topics. These topics provide insight for the students in ways that can grow and utilize the information provided for their personal and business growth.

Class visits: Ever wonder what CEO was like? We encourage anyone to come to class and sit in to participate right along side our students. Your participation provides many different thoughts that can make our students think. We wecome anyone for as little or as long as you would like. Do you want a refreshing way to start your day? Come in and talk with our students, a positive growth for all!
