  • Round Two Microgrants Awarded

    The Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation and goodWORKSconnect have teamed up, with the support of the Lumpkin Family Foundation, and created microgrant opportunities for nonprofits within the region. Microgrants are up to $1,500 for attendance by non-profits staff and board members at trainings and professional development programs to improve the management, governance or leadership of the applicant organization.

    Stan McMorris and the Thomas Lincoln Cemetery Association have been awarded a $2,000 grant from the Mattoon Area Community Foundation CommunityWorks Fund to install a war memorial on the cemetery grounds.

    Twenty-five students from Effingham, St. Anthony, Beecher City, Altamont, Teutopolis, and Dieterich form the 2010-2011 CEO class, and instructor Craig Lindvahl feels that this will be an outstanding group of young business leaders.
