The Effingham County 4-H Youth Ambassadors recently received a $10,000 grant from the Siemer Milling Company Endowment Fund. The Effingham County 4-H Youth Ambassadors is a leadership club for teenage 4-H members. Youth Ambassadors "strive to promote 4-H programs and encourage youth to become actively involved in their communities." The funds will be used to host the 2016 Central Illinois Leadership Academy, a one-day leadership event that will provide an opportunity for youth in Effingham County to build leadership skills including critical thinking and effective communication. The program will also include keynote speakers from the Effingham community to share leadership skills with academy attendees. This event will be open to all Effingham County youth, ages 8-14.

The Siemer Milling Company Endowment Fund was established in 2006 for the purpose of providing a permanent source of funding to programs in Effingham County that support the development of young leaders.
