The Mattoon Area Community Foundation advisory board is pleased to announce that it has named Sibyl Etchason as the 2017 Outstanding Philanthropist. The Community Foundation presents the award in recognition of the outstanding philanthropic achievements of individuals, families or organizations in Coles County.

Fresh new look at NCHS thanks to Eagle for Life School Improvement Fund
Students and community members are sure to notice the brand new mats recently installed in the high school gymnasium. The mats were purchased with an $8,000 grant to Newton Community High School from the newly established Eagle for Life School Improvement Fund.
